DOCUMENT FOREIGNERS IN SPAIN

A Schengen visa issued by a consulate of the
following countries allows the holder to travel freely in all of these
countries: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland,
France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania,
Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia,
Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland This Visa will affixed to your
passport before you leave the United States and must be presented to
Immigration Control upon first entry into a Schengen country.

WHERE SHOULD I APPLY?
The visa department of the Consulate of Spain in San
Francisco will consider applications for all kind of Visas BY
APPOINTMENT and IN PERSON ONLY. Schedule one appointment per person. To

processed by mail.U 1. If you intended to visit only Uone
USchengen country, you must apply at the Consulate of that particular
country. 2. If you intend to visit UseveralU Schengen countries,
you must apply for a visa at the Consulate of country, which is your Umain
destination (where you are spending most days).U If you are part of
a cruise, please take note that every port will count as one day. 3. If
you intend to visit several Schengen countries but do not have a main
destination (same amount of days); you should apply for a visa at the
Consulate of the country which is your Ufirst point of entry.U 4.
If you do not need a visa for the Schengen country, which is your main
destination or first point of entry, please note that you may require a
visa for other Schengen countries. You should then apply at the
Consulate of the first Schengen country, which does require you to have
a visa. 5. Apply at this Consulate if your permanent address
is in: Alaska, California (excluding the counties San Luis Obispo,
Kern, San Bernardino, Santa Bárbara, Ventura, Los Angeles, Orange,
Riverside, San Diego, and Imperial which belong to the jurisdiction of
the Consulate of Spain in Los Angeles), Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada,
Oregon, Washington, Wyoming.
WHAT SHOULD I SUBMIT?
The consular administration has full authority to
evaluate, and request more documents than those submitted by the
applicant. The latter is hereby informed that submitting the
aforementioned documents does NOT guarantee automatic issuance of the
visa. Documents accepted to process the visa will not be returned. UORIGINAL

you have filled it out. Place, date and sign the application.
1. Passport or
Official travel document valid for a minimum of three months,
counting from the expected date of return to the United States. Please
make sure your passport has a blank page to affix the visa.
2. Visa original
application form. Please fill out the application form completely.
Make 2 photocopies of the application form after you have filled
it out.
3. US Resident Alien
card or a valid U.S. long-term visa. Holders of B-1/B-2 visas
cannot apply in the United States; they must apply in their
country of residence or country of origin. Applicants holding student
visas must also submit original and photocopy of their I-20 with the
endorsement on the back, and copies of their F1 visa.
4. Three recent
passport-size photographs. (White Background, 2x2 in)
5. A Local Police
invitation from a family member or friend who resides in Spain or a
detailed hotel reservation with the complete address for all
Schengen State. If you are part of a tour or cruise, please include a
letter from your travel agent stating a complete itinerary of cities and
hotels
6. A major credit
card with the latest Credit Card Statement or a minimum of $660 US
dollars plus $75 per day of stay in Spain over nine days in traveler’s
checks. (make sure your name appears)
7. Your latest bank
statement. (It could be a mailed or online statement. Make sure your
name appears).
8. Original letter
from employer signed indicating Utype of job, length of time
employed and annual salaryU. If you are going on business, the letter
should also indicate the purpose of your trip and who will cover your
expenses. If you are a Uself-employed or a dependent, you must submit
your latest Income Tax ReturnU.
9. Planned
itinerary/printout of a roundtrip airline ticket: We highly
recommend not to purchase travel tickets until your visa has been
approved.
10. Proof of travel
health/accident insurance. UOriginal letter from your insurance
companyU (fax or photocopies will not be accepted) stating that you are
Ucovered abroadU or a copy of
travel insurance.
11. Applicants who are
under 18 years of age must submit a notarized authorization letter from
their parents or legal guardians.
12. Your passport maybe
returned by mail. Bring a pre-paid self-addressed Express Mail
envelope of the US Postal Service with U$18.95U in stamps. Not
metered stamp. No other courier service is accepted. If you wish to
pick-up your visa in person, you can do so from 1:00pm to 2:00pm
• Be advised that
additional requirements might be requested.
• In some cases you
must submit your latest Income Tax Return.
Transit and double transit: If you need to travel
to Spain in transit or double transit, you must only submit those
documents referred to in points: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 9 and 12.

• A Schengen visa is
issued free of charge to the spouse and children of European Union
nationals. The spouse should present original and copies of the marriage

English) and the E.U. citizen’s passport. The minor children should
present a birth certificate.

La Carta de Invitación
de particulares a favor de extranjeros para entrar en España :

MODELO DE SOLICITUD DE CARTA DE INVITACIÓN

Requisitos de la carta de
invitación:
1.-Solicitud dirigida a la Comisaría de Policía del lugar de residencia,
conteniendo los siguientes extremos:
Nombre, apellidos,
lugar y fecha de nacimiento, nacionalidad, nº del DNI o Pasaporte,
cuando se trate de españoles o pasaporte, NIE.
Domicilio y lugar completo de residencia
(Se debe aportar certificado de empadronamiento actualizado)
2.-Manifestación
expresa de su voluntad de invitar y de acoger a la persona invitada,
bien en su domicilio principal, que será el arriba indicado, bien en una
segunda vivienda, en cuyo caso deberá determinar el lugar concreto.
El invitante aportará
documentación acreditativa de la disponibilidad de la vivienda (título
de propiedad, contrato de arrendamiento u otros, de acuerdo con la
legislación civil vigente).
3.-Relación o vínculo
que mantiene con el invitado. (mediante aportación de documentos tales
como: fotos, cartas, e-mails, libro de familia, partida de nacimiento,
etc.)
4.-Nombre, apellidos, lugar y fecha de
nacimiento, nacionalidad, lugar concreto de su residencia o domicilio y
número de pasaporte del invitado.(Se está exigiendo fotocopia íntegra
del pasaporte del invitado).
5.-Período durante el cual está prevista
la estancia del invitado, especificando, de manera aproximada, el primer
y el último día de la misma.
6.-Antes de la firma, deberá constar que
el invitante declara que la información expuesta es verídica, así como
la voluntad de acoger a esa persona y la voluntad expresa de la
invitación.
En la solicitud, el invitante deberá hacer
constar que está informado de que:
El Código Penal,
aprobado por Ley Orgánica 10/1995, de 23 de noviembre de 1995, tipifica
como delito, en el artículo 318 bis: "el que directa o indirectamente,
promueva, favorezca o facilite el tráfico ilegal o la inmigración
clandestina de personas desde, en tránsito o con destino a España, será
castigado con la pena de cuatro a ocho años de prisión."
La Ley 4/2000, de 11 de enero, sobre
derechos y libertades de los extranjeros en España y su integración
social, consideran infracción muy grave: "inducir, promover, favorecer o
facilitar con ánimo de lucro, individualmente o formando parte de una
organización, la inmigración clandestina de personas en tránsito o con
destino al territorio español o su permanencia en el mismo, siempre que
no constituya delito".
Los datos relativos a la identidad, número
de pasaporte, nacionalidad y residencia, tanto del invitado como del
invitante, serán incorporados a un fichero de la Dirección General de la
Policía y de la Guardia Civil.

Cuando así lo determine el
Ministerio del Interior, de acuerdo con el Ministerio de Sanidad y Consumo, todas aquellas personas que pretendan entrar en territorio español deberán presentar en los puestos fronterizos certificado sanitario expedido en el país de procedencia por los servicios médicos que designe la Misión Diplomática u Oficina Consular española o someterse a reconocimiento médico por parte de los servicios sanitarios españoles competentes a su llegada, en la frontera, con el fin de acreditar que no padecen ninguna de las enfermedades cuarentenables contempladas en el Reglamento Sanitario Internacional, así como en cuantos compromisos internacionales sobre la materia haya suscrito el Estado español, sin
perjuicio de lo que se disponga al efectos, por la normativa de la Unión Europea.
